Longwarry win in wet

Longwarry’s division one travelled to Traralgon on Saturday to take on RSL in tough wintery conditions and came away with a hard fought five-shot win.

Division six were washed out against Trafalgar Division one: Longwarry 16/102 defeated Morwell 4/94.

Elio Meggetto, Judy Eastwell, Kenneth Towt and Barry White (skip) defeated Maurie Sutcliffe’s team 22/18.

This rink was close for the first half of the game. RSL got on top and led by five shots by the 19th end. Longwarry fought back strongly to win five of the last six ends to record a great four-shot win.

Brian Hennessy, Mark Serong, Hank Metselaar and Russell White (skip) defeated Morice Gardiner’s team 22/19.

Longwarry got off to a good start and were five shots up at the break. With Brian leading well, Longwarry was able to keep the lead in the second half to win by three shots.

Vicki Hanks, Lloyd Maisey, Ken White and Slim Eastwell (skip) lost to Beau Williamson’s team 20/21.

Longwarry got off to a great start to be 10/1 by end eight. RSL fought back well and ends were all even going into the last end. RSL managed to win the last shot to win by that margin.

Grant Pask, Simon Counsel, Ian Peterson, and John McCarthy (skip) lost to David Hodson’s team 19/20.

Longwarry started well to be 11 shots up after three ends. RSL fought back well and scores were 13-all by end 15. Longwarry was struggling to get bowls in the head and RSL lead by five shots at end 23. Longwarry managed to pick up four shots in the last two ends to go down by one shot.
