A Celtic Christmas treat

-

Just over three years after Ceili Moore took her final bow as leading woman in Michael Flatley’s “Lord of the Dance”, the Aussie born star will bring her talents home in new show “A Celtic Christmas”.

A Taste of Ireland is back by popular demand at the West Gippsland Arts Centre on Saturday, December 14 at 7.30pm.

One of Australia’s most esteemed Irish dancers in both the competitive and professional scene, Moore grew up in Sydney’s south west and had an early knack for winning titles. This culminated iwhen she was crowned 2014 World Irish Dance Champion.

Moore road the coattails of her own competitive success, touring the globe with acclaimed shows “Riverdance”, “Heartbeat of Home” and “Lord of the Dance”.

“It’s just a dream,” Moore says on the experience of performing to sold out crowds and stadiums around the world alongside Michael Flatley himself.

“I loved every moment of it, and I wouldn’t change a thing, but it’s time to bring some of that magic home. It’s time to bring the jigs down under.”

Moore will be supported by an all-star cast in Warragul comprising fellow champion dancers and acclaimed international musicians.

“There’s a lot happening on that stage - music, singing, dancing, special effects - it’s a really fun night,” says the show’s writer Jack Kearney.

After touring over 132 shows in Australia and New Zealand in 2019 with their flagship show “A Taste of Ireland”, Moore evolved their offering with “A Celtic Christmas”.

It takes Irish music and dance to new ground, weaving jovial Christmas cheer with the mesmerising traditions of the beloved nation.

Tickets are $69.90 for general, $64.90 for members, concession, groups and students and $49.90 for youth under 13.
