Vehicles targetted in district crime

A man was seen looking into vehicles in the Civic Park carpark in Warragul on Thursday.

Police said a witness observed a man arrive in a silver Mitsubishi bearing Queensland registrati­on plates between 11.50am and noon.

A male, female and a child were in the vehicle prior to the man getting out to look into vehicles in the carpark. The Mitsubishi then drove away.

One of the vehicles in the carpark had tool marks around the passenger side window.

In a separate incident, a front registrati­on plate was stolen from a vehicle parked in a Club Lane carpark in Warragul.

Police said the theft occurred between Monday, December 16 and Friday, December 20 from a Holden Commodore sedan parked in the carpark behind National Australia Bank.

In a separate incident, a hole was cut in perimeter cyclone fencing to access the yard of a business premises in June Court, Warragul.

The canopy of a work ute was searched through and an unknown quantity of hand and power tools stolen.

Police said the theft occurred between 5pm on Thursday, December 12 and 6am on Friday, December 13.

A passport, wallet and power tools were amongst items stolen from several unlocked vehicles in Drouin last week.

A passport and GPS were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in McNeilly Rd on Wednesday or Thursday. Police said the inside of the vehicle was searched with speakers and a football thrown onto the ground outside the vehicle.

A wallet containing cash, identifica­tion and bank cards was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in Balmoral Cres also on Wednesday or Thursday.

Police said three skateboard­s belonging to the victim were left behind along with half a pair of scissors belonging to the offender/s.

A large number of tools, including power tools, were stolen from an unlocked tool compartmen­t on the back of a ute in Railway Ave.

The theft occurred between 10pm on Friday and 8am on Saturday.

A vehicle and television were stolen during a house burglary in Trafalgar last week.

Police said offenders forced a sliding door to enter a house in Cross St between 6pm on Sunday, December 15 and 4.35pm on Monday, December 16.

They stole a television, keys and the victim’s 2005 Hyundai Elantra silver sedan.

In a separate incident, offenders have broken into a business on Waterloo Rd.

Police said a front door padlock was broken to gain entry between 5pm on Sunday, December 15 and 4.30am on Monday, December 16.

Drawers and cupboards were rummaged through, but nothing stolen.

The victim’s vehicle was parked out the front of the business. It was also entered, but nothing stolen.
