Tai Chi and Qigong offer more than just a Gentle Exercise

-

Tai Chi and Qigong offer a form of exercise that is both beneficial to the body and to the mind.

Its tranquil, graceful exercises improve fitness without impacting on the joints.

The linked sequences of movements or “Form” are performed at a slow and controlled pace, with deep concentration and diaphragmatic breathing.

The movements are designed to improve balance, co-ordination, strength and flexibility.

The beauty is that it is appropriate for all ages. Tai Chi was traditionally selected as a means of exercise for those who could not participate in more vigorous sports due to injury or illness.

Nowadays with a variety of forms to learn, Tai Chi has wide appeal, including the young and very fit. Tai Chi students find that by understanding the martial arts applications of the moves they are learning helps make sense of the movements.

The focus of Qigong is mostly for health and is based on the system traditional Chinese medicine.

Whether you choose to do Tai Chi or Qigong, the health benefits are very similar and will become a daily rejuvenation of your mind and body.
