Drouin dominant in win over Lyrebirds

- By Joel Batson Division 3:

A dominant Drouin side has easily swept away Buln’s advances on the weekend.

Batting first, Brad Cross (65) and Bailey Osseweyer (61) had their way with the inexperienced Buln attack, pushing the score to 4219 at the close of their innings.

In reply, Buln struggled to keep up with the rate, however Lachlan Axford (50) and Lachie Jagoe (32) made the most of the situation, but it was Jacob Sandman (3-12) who restricted the Lyrebirds to just 130 and the loss.

A strong Yarragon side has inflicted a crushing defeat on Garfield-Tynong away from home. Bowling first, the Panthers, through Joel Kilday (3-13), Olly Watt (2-20) and Jake Green (2-29)- strangled the limp Titans’ batting line-up. Only Darren Vandenberge (64) was able to provide any sort of resistance, as his side crawled to 9-116.

In reply, Yarragon were never troubled thanks to Andy Trewern (41) and John Allsop (38), the away side reaching the target three down with 12 overs to spare.

Catani has continued their path of destruction through the WDCA, thrashing Jindivick at the Kydd-Parke Reserve.

Bowling first, the Blues absolutely decimated the Jumping Jacks, Nathaniel Wade (4-15) the chief bringer of carnage, as only Ben Giles (45*) could help Jindivick to a well under-par 70 all out.

In reply, Catani made the chase look simple, only losing two late wickets, with Ben Coleman (28) top-scoring.

Western Park has climbed back into the top four at the expense of Neerim.

Batting first, the Warriors found early problems due to the bowling of Samual Graziotin (3-27), however the usual suspects, Stephen Briggs (61) and Michael Rabl (32) moved the score forward to 8-158 to give Neerim a tough task at Drouin Rec, one they couldn’t overcome.

Only Anthony McCann (28) looked like scoring for the Stags, as Kurtis Harper (2-18) and Connor McCluskey (2-25) strangled the away side into submission, Neerim only able to muster 9-115.

?? ?? Ashley Lockett looks to keep the Neerim run rate going, smacking this shot towards the boundary.
