Western Park Vs Garfield-Tynong:

The Titans have got up in a tight contest against the Warriors away from home.

Batting first, consistent building of partnerships helped them push a good score, managing to build partnerships along the way.

Matt Garner (2/16) applied the pressure with the ball to try and swing the momentum to the Warriors as the Titans finish with 5/113.

In reply, the Warriors showed real intent with the bat as Patrick Ireland (26*), Matt Roberts (26*) and Liam O’Connor (21*) built partnerships to see Western Park lose just one wicket in the batting innings.

However, they didn’t make the runs in fast enough time, falling surprisingly short, 14 runs shy of the total handed to them by the Titans, finishing on 1/99.

Jindivick Vs Neerim District/Yarragon: A good game of cricket was played at Jindivick as the Jumping Jacks fell just short of Neerim District/Yarragon.

Batting first, opener and skipper Nic Caddy (18) posted the only reasonable total for Neerim District/Yarragon as they surprisingly didn’t make near as many as what they are usually capable of.

This was due to the Jumping Jacks good line and length, not allowing the batting team to build a partnership, as Neerim District/Yarragon finished on a near par score of 5/87.

With the bat in hand, the Jumping Jacks weren’t as disciplined, as wickets in bunches hurt them, losing 4/13 through the middle order, as Vinnie Caia (2/8) & Lachlan Willis (2/6) put the brakes on any hope of a middle order cameo. A late burst from Sam Christie (18) brought hope for the Jumping Jacks, but the damage was already done as they finished under the total at hand on 8/65.

Ellinbank Vs Longwarry/Catani: Longwarry/Catani have stolen the win late as the Eagles falter late.

Batting first, Ellinbank’s stand out batsman Adam Campbell (42) led the way for his side as they were in trouble, as only one other batsman made it to double digits.

Late pressure applied by Brock Stanfield (2/6) slowed the runs late for the Eagles as they finish on 6/94.

With the bat in hand, there was constant pressure in the match as the runs kept piling on, with Finn Fox (25*) continuing to see the scoreboard tick over as his team edged closer to the total.

Women’s GCL representative Emma Atherton with an outstanding bowling performance, taking 4/12 in the pressure moments of the match by swinging the momentum back in the favor of the Eagles.

It came down to the wire as Longwarry/Catani needed 14 runs off the last 3 overs, when a hero stepped up to the plate, as Ben Achterdenbosch (14*) got the team over the line in the last over of play, finishing on 8/98 and the victory.

Under 14’s:

Drouin Vs Yarragon:

The Hawks have come away with a good victory over the Panthers at home.

Batting first, in form batsman Seb Amoroso (21*) got them off to the start they needed, as he set the example of what was to follow, as Keegan Friedlander (20*) and Hamish Piner (16*) helped push the Hawks to a healthy total of 5/95.

In reply, Yarragon showed determination to get where they needed to be, however constant pressure made it hard for the Panthers batsman to score freely.

Ben Smith (2/6) came through with the ball for the Hawks, taking crucial wickets to help the Hawks defend their total, as the Panthers finished well short on 3/69.

Western Park Vs Garfield-Tynong:

The Titans have come out on top against the Warriors in a high scoring affair.

Batting first, the Titans batsman showed determination, as opener Jake Van Den Berghe (46*) and Archer Burgmann (33) led the way for the Titans. Theodore Zaccari (21*) also put the runs on the board for his Garfield-Tynong side in support.

Joseph Simpson (3/10) and Tom Logan (2/18) kept the pressure on with the ball as the Titans finished on a very defendable 8/114.

In reply, the Warriors showed intent with the bat as they needed to knuckle down if they wanted to get close to the total at hand.

Jack Walsh (21*) helped them get off to the start they needed, as he, Ty Ward (16) & Tom Fawcett (20*) all put runs on the board to edge closer to the total required.

Good pressure late with the ball from the Titans slowed the runs down for the Warriors as Stirling Scates (2/3) did the job that they needed, the Warriors sitting on 6/82 after their allotted overs, some 32 runs short. Bunyip/Catani Vs Warragul:

The Gulls have outlasted Bunyip/Catani after a big first innings total.

Batting first, the Gulls lost a wicket early before Tarynt Davidson (22*) set up the innings for the Gulls, with three other batsman making double digits to push the total to something very defendable, as Bunyip/Catani failed to take wickets in bunches, the Gulls finishing on 4/111.

In reply, Bunyip/Catani showed grit as Declan McFarlane (20*) got them off to a good start, with, like the Gulls, three batsmen fighting their way to double digits to edge closer to the total handed to them by the Gulls. However, the runs weren’t flowing as quickly, making it too difficult in the end for Bunyip/Catani, as they were stranded on 3/81, 30 runs shy of the total at the end of the innings.

Buln Buln/Hallora Vs Ellinbank:

The Eagles have dominated with bat and ball against Buln Buln/Hallora.

Batting first, the Eagles got off to a good start as skipper Liam Lisle (21*) led the way once again, as Alix Tauru (19), Will Auldist (22*), Patrick Alger (20*) and Tom Bingham (22*) all took it to the Buln Buln/Hallora bowling attack who had no answer.

The strong innings from the batsmen seeing the Eagles finish on 5/135.

In reply, Buln Buln/Hallora didn’t show much, with James Welford (12) the only bright spot for his side, as Will Auldist (3/1), Jordan Lewis (2/1) and Alix Tauru (2/4) all kept constant pressure on with the ball, as they finished well below the total, falling short by 96 runs.
