Webinar helps businesses understand COVID impact
Baw Baw Shire businesses are encouraged to register for a free workplace relations webinar being held this Friday.
Offered in partnership with the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the webinar is tailored to Baw Baw Shire businesses and will be hosted by workplace relations expert Amy Bell.
Amy is a qualified non-practising lawyer and before joining the VCCI gained over 10 years’ experience in private legal practice specialising in employment law.
The webinar will offer practical advice about the key issues faced by businesses during COVID-19, including:
Stand down under the Fair Work Act JobKeeper and JobKeeper stand down Redundancy pay
Future up-scaling once restrictions are lifted.
There also will be time for participants to ask questions and share feedback throughout the session.
The webinar will run from 10am to noon, via Zoom and registrations can be made via the council website at www.bawbawshire.vic.gov.au/businessworkshops.
Participants won’t need a Zoom account to register, or any special software to access the webinar.
The webinar is part of Council’s COVID-19 business and support package, which includes free access to online training, webinars and business mentoring sessions. Council’s economic development team also is available to provide direct support, advice and business promotion.
Mayor Cr Danny Goss said the sessions was open to all businesses in Baw Baw Shire and would offer practical advice about how to navigate through this challenging time and meet your obligations as an employer.
“This is a good opportunity to get a clear understanding of where you stand as an employer, what help is available to your business and how you can support your employees.
“Aside from this session, we encourage all local businesses who need additional support to contact council as soon as possible,” he said.
