Warragul Toastmasters Club
What a great opportunity to be grateful to all those thankless, amazing people who carry our country, our community, our clubs and groups, simply by volunteering to help.
Thank you to The Gazette for recognizing these people and providing this media opportunity.
I’m lucky to be involved as a volunteer with several organizations.
However, I must thank Toastmasters for their massive help, and I mean the people - Toastmasters members.
It’s the people who have supported me, helped me, encouraged me, mentored, guided and coached me with their constructive and positive feedback.
Many don’t even realize just how much they have helped me, by letting me learn at my own pace, how to be better at what I do.
I have long suffered with repetitive foot in mouth syndrome, so my journey is about learning to keep my feet firmly planted on the ground.
My mouth feels so much better with this practice.
We don’t see our own potential, however, luckily others do.
We contribute so much by encouraging others to unearth their own potential, and they, in turn, pay it forward.
The amazing aspect about Toastmasters is the common link that we want to be better at what we do. Those who are willing to learn, to be clever, do prosper.
Communicating with someone is a core element in most of our activities.
Imagine a day, a week, a year without any form of communication with anyone.
None! Almost impossible to imagine.
I’m grateful to the volunteers within Toastmasters who help each other to be better at what they do. Terry Barridge, Warragul Toastmasters
