Wakefield, Vogrig & Boote are still open for business

-

Kim McFarlane and her team have deemed it an honour to assist their clients through navigating these trying times, especially with many non-urgent and/or non-custodial matters being adjourned until October/November 2020.

The team at McFarlane Criminal Lawyers have been at forefront of representing people’s rights in custody affected by the changes due to COVID-19.

Not to mention many different laws being enforced within the community we adore.

This year law week will take on a different look and sadly there will not be a lot of fun activities to partake in, therefore, we encourage members of the community to contact us if they have any questions about the law, how it operates or want to discuss law week.

Kim McFarlane and Chloe Frantz deem it an honour to represent their clients from the beginning to the end.

They never lose sight of how important a case is to you and appear on your behalf in court with both passion and professionalism.

They have access to the best barristers to assist with your case when needed.

The Covid-19 pandemic may have closed our offices, but we remain open for business.

All our staff have been successfully working from home since the lockdown commenced. The use of cloud technology has permitted our firm to work from home relatively seamlessly, despite our staff now being spread from Neerim South to Trafalgar to Poowong.

In addition to our usual legal work, we have recently been assisting many clients with legal issues that have arisen as a result of the pandemic. These issues include advising employers and employees of their rights relating to stand-downs and JobKeeper payments, and landlords and tenants in negotiating rent waivers and rent deferrals based on the Mandatory Code.

The witnessing of Affidavits, Statutory Declarations and Enduring Powers of Attorney has posed challenges. Our workaround is a card table and chairs located on the verandah of our Warragul office.

Court appearances have been another significant challenge, with all courts working towards establishing online hearings.

Like everyone, we are looking forward to a release of the severity of the lockdown restrictions, whilst accepting that many things will be permanently changed as a result of this pandemic.

In the meantime, do not hesitate to contact us by phone or email, or via our website or Facebook page, as we are well-equipped to continue servicing your legal needs from our remote workplaces.
