Community House opens after COVID lockdown

Warragul Community House has reopened after lockdown and has a wide range of programs on offer.

The community house has many program to offer for life-long learning and social interactio­n.

Warragul Community House programs officer Rachel Angel said the programs and activities on offer were perfect for people wanting to venture back into the community as life returns to a sense of normalcy.

“We are open again and continue to connect community with community.

“It has been great to hear the enthusiast­ic chatter and laughter from our social groups as they check in with each other, maintainin­g adequate social distancing and appropriat­e Covid related hygiene of course,” she said.

The community house has released it program guide and community members are urged to enrol early as places in courses may be limited due to social distancing restrictio­ns.

Ms Angel said they had implemente­d a Covid safe plan which requires all visitors to have their temperatur­e taken and leave a contact number in case tracing is required.

Hand sanitiser also will be available and regular cleaning will be undertaken.

Afraid of computers? Need help with how to use it? Your tablet or smart phone confuses you? Book a session with the WCH digital mentor on Tuesdays and Thursdays available from July 14.

Not sure how to navigate through Windows 10 or how to organise your files and folders? Try the course starting on July 28.

The popular Yoga and Feldenkrai­s classes will continue online until term four.

Interested in bolstering your mood after spending time in lockdown? Trying to cope with the impact of the challenges life can throw you? There is a course in positive living that will teach you techniques and give you some much-needed tools to manage your mental health.

Ms Angel said there also were some exciting learn local pre-accredited courses including: Upskill for a Career in Customer Service and Retail; Women Back in the Workforce; Let’s learn English; and easy Steps to Computers.

These courses are subsidised by the government and cost recipients $50.
