Planning questions

-

A ratepayer has questioned the efficiency of Baw Baw Shire’s planning staff.

Ian Honey lodged five questions through council’s community question time. All questions related to the performance of council’s planning department.

Mr Honey asked if councillors had a solution to improving the skills and customer satisfaction of the planning department.

“Does any councillor agree that an efficiency expert is needed to solve the problems in the department?

“Does any councillor disagree with seeking advice on this matter from the Minister of Planning or Minister for Local Government?” he asked.

Shire chief executive officer Mark Dupe said he was working with all staff across the organisation, including the planning department, to continue to provide a high level of customer service to our community during a difficult time.

Mr Dupe said council had an ongoing review program which had delivered efficiencies.

“Any efficiencies or changed to service levels are referred to council for consideration and adoption,” he said.

Mr Dupe said there was no need to ask the state government for help or an efficiency expert.
