Before restrictio­ns were again altered Warragul CWA members were able to meet for an afternoon tea.

Members were pleased to catch up and hear how everyone had coped with isolation.

Of course everyone’s garden is looking good and houses beautifull­y clean and dusted.

At the end of the tomato ripening season members were busy making pickles, bottle tomatoes as well as peaches and quince jam.

Secretary Janet has a cumquat tree and made some yummy jam. During Easter some tried their hand at making Hot Cross Buns. (seems a long time ago now).

Members lemon trees have lots of fruit at present so preserved lemons, lemon curd and sour dough bread have been made.

Several talented craft members have completed special crafts.

Home spun woollen socks, sewing machine cover and Eunice has had the knitting needles busy with baby jackets, great crocheted blue poppy tea pot cosy and little teddies for blood collection areas in Warragul and always gratefully received.

Beanies and crocheted knee rugs will be going to Anglicare and very much needed during cold winter days.

A great cross stitch cushion from Glenda including crocheted pieces. Glenda is making the branch a new banner which will be exciting to see.

After a request, over 36 penguin coats have been knitted and sent to Phillip Island for the penguin colony.

A total of 165 masks were made by Nancy for the West Gippsland Hospital and bags for the healthcare workers locally.

Although members are no longer meeting face to face they are keeping in touch with fellow members and their families by email or phone.
