Tyson Bale remembered as a talented footballer

-

Popular and talented Warragul Industrials footballer Tyson Bale died last Wednesday.

His death has shocked both the Dusties and the wider football community.

His funeral service will be held at Nielsen Funeral Chapel at 2.30pm tomorrow enabling 50 people to attend before further restrictions are imposed tomorrow night. The service will be live streamed.

Dusties’ footballers and supporters and representatives from Buln Buln Football Club will form a socially distanced guard of honour around Western Park. The hearse will do a lap of honour followed by a private family burial.

Club president Dale Bainbridge said Tyson, 24, would be remembered as a valuable player and a great friend to many at the club.

He said he had a quiet presence around the club and let his football skills on the field do the talking for him.

“He had great footy skills and he was an amazing player,” Dale said.

Tyson began his football career at Buln Buln as a junior.

Buln Buln Football Club president Daryl Pollard said Tyson brought so much joy to so many. “The club and the wider football community is shattered,” he said.

He said from a young age it was evident Tyson was destined for greatness on the field dominating junior footy and making a senior debut with and against men twice his age.

Daryl said the two stand out highlights were Tyson winning a senior premiership at the age of 18 and being awarded best on ground in 2014.

Another was kicking a massive torp after the siren against Nar Nar Goon in 2015 to win the game.

In 2016 Tyson signed with the Dusties. He had recently re-signed to play the 2021-22 seasons.

Counselling sessions were held at the club last week.

Both Dale and Daryl stressed that anyone affected by Tyson’s death should reach out and speak to friends, family or other organisations.

Sydney star Tom Papley wore a black arm band in memory of Tyson on Saturday and motioned to it after he kicked a goal commemorating their friendship through football.

Speaking before the game Tom implored people who were experiencing difficulties to reach out and seek help.

Tyson is survived by his father Bob, mother Julie (who has returned from New Zealand for the funeral) siblings and an extended step family.
