Great day on the netball courts played in wonderful sporting spirit, one which would turn out to be the final round the teams would play for the foreseeable future as new restrictions were introduced on Sunday for regional Victoria.

Drouin 29 def Warragul 19
Drouin came away with another great win on Saturday making it two in a row. Their defensive structures and combinations are improving each week. Lucy McKellar was the linchpin for Drouin in defence, having an outstanding game with multiple turnovers. Through the midcourt, Ella East provided drive onto the circle edge and showed strength in every contest. Drouin’s versatility as a team is a great strength of which they took advantage on Saturday. Award winner: Lucy McKellar

Drouin 16 def Warragul 12
The Drouin girls managed to get their second win on the board in a tough, close game against our rival Warragul. The defensive pressure was outstanding from Drouin, creating turnovers. Kaylee Nalder worked hard all day creating a lot of movement and scoring opportunities in the goal ring. Holly Cheyne was always an option in the midcourt, using the angles effectively to create space. Overall, it was a tight game with Drouin holding their nerve under pressure to get the four premiership points.
Award winners: Kaylee Nalder and Holly Cheyne

Drouin 18 def by Warragul 42
Drouin got off to a good start, playing with great intensity early, which was very pleasing. Mikayla Dunn led the charge from wing defence, playing tight and capitalising on every loose ball, especially in the first half. Drouin’s rebounding was much improved from their previous match. Fiona Nalder implemented the training focus, driving strongly onto the ring. In the second half, Drouin’s attack struggled to find space against a quality Warragul defensive combination. Unfortunately Drouin fought valiantly but were overpowered by a strong Warragul team.
Award winners: Makayla Dunn and Fiona Nalder.
