A fresh voice drives Jazmin

-

The central ward candidate said a long history of hard-working family members who were passionate about their community led to her interest in council.

“I’ve had hard working family members involved in the shire for many years…they are devoted people who love Warragul.

“It is time for a new, fresh perspective. I have a lot to learn but I want to make decisions for the wellbeing of the community. I am passionate about the community.

Jazmin lives in Warragul and has a passion for giving back to the community.

She attended school at Warragul North Primary School and Marist-Sion College before going on to study a Diploma of Communications and Marketing and a Diploma of Nursing.

She has started her own business making self-love boxes for men and women and also is employed in disability support.

Jazmin said she took on a leadership role at school and realised what she had to offer as a leader.

“I have always seen myself as a leader. I love supporting people and helping people to achieve their goals.

“I want to make a change for people,” she said.

Being an advocate for mental health, achieving better outcomes for people who are vulnerable and challenged and being a voice for small business are the issues Jazmin will focus on.

Through her work as a disability support worker, she said she had learned from clients that many local roads and footpaths were not good enough for them to go for a walk.

“Everyone deserves the opportunity to have good roads,” she said.

Jazmin said she was doing a lot of research into the community’s priorities and had some incredible mentors assisting her.

“I am young, open to learning, I am passionate about people and I think I am the perfect candidate,” Jazmin said.
