Drouin Amcal offers a range of options to simplify Medication Management

Medadvisor is an app which allows you to organise your medications and scripts on your smart phone, tablet or PC. You can set to receive reminders when your tablets are running low or your prescription is running out. It is especially useful for carers as they can be nominated to manage your medicines. You can send a request through to the pharmacy so your prescription can be made up and you will receive a message to notify you when it is ready to collect. This works well if your prescriptions are kept on file in the Pharmacy otherwise it is a simple task to assemble the paperwork when you come in.

If you prefer a simple list our Pharmacists can help you produce a summary or List of your medicines. This can be a useful reminder to take your medicines and it’s also helpful when visiting Doctors or Specialists or other healthcare providers. It is also very useful in an emergency

Plastic reusable medication boxes are a convenient and economical way of organising your tablets. Daily or weekly packs can be purchased for you or a carer to pack at home. They are easily changed if medication needs to be altered. They are great when travelling.

Dose Administration Aids commonly known as Webster Packs or Medico Packs are the most sophisticated way to simplify a complicated medication regime.

For a small weekly fee packs can be prepared in the Pharmacy and collected each week or fortnight. The packs have individually sealed compartments making it easier to manage your medications. They ensure you take the right medication and the right dose at the right time. It reduces the chance of you forgetting to take your medication. It is sealed and secure to prevent spills or mix ups. Is easier for people with low vision. It is a great system for carers to monitor medication usage. If your medication or dose changes you can return the pack to the Pharmacy and it can be changed and returned to you within an hour or two.

Department of Veterans affairs will fully subsidise Dose Administration Aids service for any DVA cardholder.
