Second Drouin lotto win

-

A woman from Drouin declared “my heart is pounding” after winning $20 million in last week’s Oz Lotto draw.

“I play every week, and lately, I haven’t had much luck,” said the woman. “I’m always joking with the guy in the store that I never win anything.”

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous and purchased the ticket from Drouin Lotto and Cards, plans to share the windfall with her family, buy a new car and visit the local pub.

It is the second big win in Drouin in a month. It follows a Drouin man scoring a division one prize of $847,000 in TattsLotto on August 15.

Speaking with an official on Wednesday morning to confirm the win, the $20 million winner couldn’t contain her shock at the lifechanging news.

“We’ve been playing for a long time. I always play the same numbers. I’ve been playing them for about 20 years I’d say,” she said.

“I marked the numbers with my birthday and things like that. I chose them so long ago now I don’t know why I chose them.

When asked how it felt to become an overnight multi-millionaire, the thrilled winner revealed it was just one of several life-changing moments she had experienced.

“A few years ago, a family member had a serious accident so I am very much aware of how your life can change in the blink of an eye,” she declared. Despite winning the $20 million prize, the self-confessed “country girl” revealed she wasn’t planning on retiring early and was already hard at work.

The Drouin woman held the only division one winning entry nationally. As well as winning the coveted division one prize, the happy winner’s entry also scored division three seven times, bolstering her total prize to $20,027,765.85.

Drouin Lotto and Cards owner Raj Joshi, who sold the winning marked system eight entry, said he was thrilled to discover his outlet had sold its first division one winning entry.

“Congratulations to our winner. We wish them a great future and hope it will fulfil their dreams. We thank them for supporting our store.”

“It feels great we hope to sell division one again and again,” he added.
