Warragul & Drouin Gazette

Brick not printed

-

Let me start with my original brick (that was not printed).

A tonne of bricks to P. Kincaid for authorising huge adds in The Gazette and to the Gazette for publishing them.

They contained misinformation to pick on a few councillors to persuade voters to vote against them.

It is appalling that you use this forum for your own agendas and attacks.

I received an email from The Gazette today saying what I had written was inappropriate for bricks and bouquets as it was a personal attack on a person and a business.

Well Carolyn Turner (editor The Gazette) it was not an attack at all it is pointing out that these adds are personally attacking three councillors when it is a group of councillors that make these decisions There are double standards here and there is certainly some personal attacking going on and it’s not from me .

All I am saying is if you print something put in all relevant information let the public know the whole truth. I find it quite convenient that my brick was not printed and when I submitted it a second time I received your email saying it was not suitable for bricks but you would allow it in letters to the editor.

And it will be after voting is closed. So, Carolyn Turner will you print this?

Carolyn Gorman, Drouin

Editor’s note:

Ms Gorman advised that she sent a brick on October 14 however The Gazette has no record of receiving it.

During an election period all published material, including letters containing electoral matter, must include the name and address of the author at the end.

The advertisements she refers to appeared in two issues October 13 and 20. They were authorised by P. Kincaid of Lardner.

Views expressed by advertisers are not necessarily the views of this newspaper.
