A Willow Grove man was one of three people charged with murder last week in relation to the suspicious death of Newborough man Jarrad Lovison in April this year.

Missing Persons Squad detectives arrested five people last Tuesday and Wednesday after executing search warrants at homes in Trafalgar, Willow Grove, Tanjil South, Moe and Newborough.

On Tuesday, Samantha Guillerme, 24, of Moe was arrested and later charged with murder.

The following day, two more men were charged with murder including Jake Brown, 28 of Willow Grove and Andrew Price, 47 of Moe.

All three were remanded in custody to appear at Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court early next year.

A 44-year-old Trafalgar woman and a 55year-old man from Tanjil South were both arrested on Wednesday and released later that day without charge.

Mr Lovison was last seen in Newborough on April 16 and his body was located in bushland at Moondarra on May 23.

Detectives investigating his death executed multiple search warrants on Wednesday at properties in: Tooronga Rd, Willow Grove; March St, Moe; Adam View Crt, Tanjil South; Anzac Rd and Princes Hwy, Trafalgar; and, Haunted Hills Rd, Newborough.

Mr Lovison’s parents John and Dianne Lovison released a statement on the weekend saying they were heartbroken and hoped justice could be served for Jarrad.

“We would like to thank all the police and detectives for their tireless pursuit.”

“We would also like to thank all of Jay’s friends and all the people that helped with all the information given to police that has got us to where we are today,” they said.
