Buln Red defeat Blue in club battle

Buln Buln Red 2/83 (cc) def by Buln Buln Blue 5/85

Buln Buln Blue have prevailed in a match against their own, Buln Buln Red.

Batting first, Buln Buln Red set the tone as weak bowling proved to be the difference with the batsman hitting out against the bowlers. With 26 extras bowled, this gave Red the upper hand early, setting a total of 2/83 off of 20 overs.

In reply, Blue batted well under pressure as Red’s erratic bowling proving the difference in their run chase, with Blue getting over the line in the last over with a total of 5/85 and the win, giving them the bragging rights within the club for the week.

Ellinbank 6/72(cc) drew with Yarragon White 3/72 Ellinbank and Yarragon White have tied in what was a great battle of bat and ball.

Batting first, Noah McDonald (18*) set the tone for the Panthers making it an ideal start for them, however the Eagles rallied late with the ball as Jack DeAraugo (2/5) put the squeeze on, limiting them to a total of 3/72.

In reply, the Eagles had a shaky start as they lost there opener within the first over, before Archie Martel (20*) gave them the much needed boost in the middle order and managed to keep the excellent bowling of Ben Allsop (2/3) out.

All in all, the Eagles were squeezed late in their innings and didn’t manage to pass the total as they finished on 6/72, ending the game in a tense draw.

Western Park White 2/70(cc) def by Western Park Blue 1/91(cc) Western Park Blue have defeated their own in a good battle at Western Park.

Batting first, Western Park White got off to the best start with the bat, as Ty Ward (20*), Tom Logan (18) and Tom Fawcett (20*) struck the ball well, however due to the tight bowling of Blue no other batsman was able to make a start. White finished with a strong total of 2/70.

In response, Blue came out firing with the bat, as Caleb McIntosh (16), Finn Sheehan (20*), Jack Walsh (20*) and Brock Sawyer (20*) really helped Blues chances of passing the total. White needed a breakthrou­gh, but they couldn’t find one, as Blue passed their total one wicket down for a well-earned victory.

Yarragon Black 3/66(cc) def by Drouin 1/67

Drouin have defeat Yarragon Black in a gritty performanc­e last Monday night. Batting first, Yarragon Black star player Addison Cumming started the innings off brilliantl­y, as his 22* off of 35 balls proved to be the start that Yarragon needed, as his teammates fell all around him.

Drouin replied with the ball in a good display of line and length though as Ibby Wahid (2/4) set the tone, limiting Yarragon to their eventual total of 3/66.

In reply, Drouin came out strong with the bat, as Keegan Friedlande­r (21*) helped his teammates along before Ibby Wahid (26*) soon followed, capping off a great individual performanc­e, as Drouin passed Yarragon Black’s total one wicket down in the 12th over to claim victory.
