Finnegan key in win

Ellinbank 6/106 def Neerim/Jindivick 6/90

Ellinbank have come away victorious against a weaker Neerim/Jindivick side. Batting f irst, the Eagles started off strong with both openers reaching double digits before Will Auldist (22) and Liam Finnegan (30*) inflicted damage to the bowling attack pushing the Eagles to a strong position. Neerim/ Jindivick closed out the innings strong squeezing to a grand total of 6/106 off of there 20 overs.

In reply, Neerim/ Jindivick couldn’t quite muster a partnershi­p together between one another, as wickets kept falling, with Phillip Conley (2/9) and Ryan Murphy (2/6) put the pressure on with the ball in hand, making it diff icult for any batsman to get going. Neerim/Jindivick falling short of the Eagles total, losing by 16 runs.

Western Park 0/179 def Longwarry/Catani 7/68

Western Park have dom ina ted Longwarry/Catani in all around display at home. Batting f irst, Western Park had it all, as Longwarry couldn’t find an answer to a batting masterclas­s. Lane Ward (27*), Toby Murfet (26*) and Jacob Konstanty (26*) the charge as the Warriors finished with a huge total of 0/179.

In reply, Longwarry/Catani found it hard to get going, with Liam Kirkman (26*) the shining light in a tough day for the Crows, as Patrick Ireland (2/1) and Connor Seymour (2/4) bowled tight to limit them, eventually seeing the Crows fall short by 109 runs.

Yarragon/Hallora 4/74 def by Drouin 5/87 Drouin have come away with a tight victory against Yarragon/Hallora. Batting f irst, Yarragon/Hallora had a strong start with opener Brock Walsh (25*) setting the tone early for the rest of his squad with Jackson Williames (17) soon to follow. Tight bowling by the Hawks restricted any scoring following though as four maidens were bowled in their 20 over innings, finishing on 4/74. In reply, Drouin looked out of it early as fell to 4-31 at one stage thanks to the handy work of Charlie Coster (2/3) before Hall (36*) blasted the bowlers around the park and set up a famous win for Drouin, passing Yarragon/Hallora with one wicket to spare. Buln Buln Blue 4/78 def by Warragul 7/107 Warragul have come away with a strong victory over Buln Buln Blue. Batting first, the gulls had a strong start with both openers posting double digits with Tarynt Davidson (19*) making his mark in his under 14’s debut, as Roy Barake (19) was soon to follow. A late innings collapse in the hands of Dane Hammond (3/7) saw the Lyrebirds restrict the Gulls to 7/107. In reply, the scoreboard pressure made it difficult for the Lyrebirds to get going as Beau Joiner (2/24) put the pressure on, limiting the Lyrebirds to 4/78 and securing the win for the Gulls.

Yarragon White 4/80 def Buln Buln Red 6/55

Yarragon White claimed a strong victory over Buln Buln Red. Batting first, the Lyrebirds needed to build around their opener Artie Davidson (22*) as he put the pressure on the bowling attack early. The Panthers switched the tempo and made scoring very difficult for any other batsman that came to the crease, as Thomas Vickery (2/5) led the way with the ball, as the Lyrebirds finished with 6/55. In reply, the Panthers came out with serious intent, as

Benjamin Allsop (21* off 15) showed class giving his team the boost to begin the run chase with the Panthers passing the Lyrebirds comfortabl­y. Western Park Blue 8/76 def Ellinbank 2/71 Western Park Blue have won with a nail-biter against Ellinbank. Batting first, the Eagles found tough to get going as good line and length from the Warriors batsman forced the Eagles into their shells and to play defensive cricket. Archie Martel (16) proved to be the difference, helping his side to 2/71. In reply, the Warriors started strong with Caleb McIntosh (22*) giving them the boost they needed. A mid innings collapse almost saw the Eagles get back on top however the Warriors survived, passing their total in the final two overs. Drouin 3/67 def Western Park White 4/64 Drouin have defeated Western Park White in a good display of bat vs ball. Batting first, Western Park’s skipper continued his good form as Tom Fawcett (20*) set the standard for his teammates, however none of his crew could quite get themselves going as the Hawks built pressure on them, finishing with 4/64. In response, Drouin felt the pressure early with tight bowling from the Warriors, however a mid-innings partnershi­p was all they needed, as the passed Western Park in the 16th over for the victory. Hallora 5/100 def Yarragon Black 5/88 Hallora have claimed a narrow win against Yarragon Black. Batting first, the Kangas struggled early with two quick wickets to begin the innings before Max Williames (20*) and Harry Coster (20*) got the innings going for the Kangas, helping them to 5/100. In reply, Yarragon Black struggled to build partnershi­ps, as Harry Coster took 3/13 and claimed the man of the match as only Addison Cumming gave the Panthers a glimmer of hope. In the end it wasn’t enough, with the Panthers falling short of the total, losing by 12 runs.
