Agribusiness awards in online format
Food & Fibre Gippsland is preparing to host the Excellence in Agribusiness Awards in an online presentation on Friday that will showcase the finalists and subsequent winners.
The announcement of winners will be via their website (www.foodandfibregippsland.com.au) where highly acclaimed food writer for The Age Good Food Richard Cornish will host the event.
From established generational farms, emerging new agribusinesses and small artisan producers to globally recognised brands, the awards celebrate the best in Gippsland’s food and fibre sector.
The program received an outstanding 115 entries and the judges were impressed by both the diversity and quality.
Head judge Paul Ford said “all 115 entries are worthy and the three or four candidates we have shortlisted in each category have rich and diverse stories that showcase all that’s great about Gippsland’s vibrant $7 billion food & fibre sector.”
Excellence awards program manager Kate Gunn is excited about the online announcement of award winners from an impressive line-up of finalists.

Awards to be presented online on the night are excellence in: Adaption to Change,
Sustainability, Innovation, Food & Drink Manufacturing (small and large), Research and Development, Exporting, Workforce Capability, Fibre, Entrepreneurship, Collaborative Partnerships, and Service to the Food & Fibre Industry .
The top three tier awards include Young Agribusiness Leader of the Year, Female Agribusiness Leader of the Year and the highest accolade; the Gippsland Agribusiness of the Year.
