Smith-Butterwort­h 50* leads Yarragon/Hallora

Under 16s Yarragon/Hallora 5/122 vs Ellinbank Yarragon/Hallora have batted well in their match up against the Eagles at home. Batting first, after losing an opener in the first over, Liam Smith-Butterwort­h (50* off 85) and Heath Kirkham (29 off 91) dug in to give their side the upper hand. A fightback late in the innings saw Yarragon/Hallora lose 4/14 thanks to the handy work of Liam Lisle (2/12) as Yarragon/Hallora finished with 5/122 off their 40 overs, setting a task for their opponents in week two.

Drouin 125 vs Longwarry Catani Longwarry/Catani have been good with the ball in week one of their battle against the Hawks at home. Batting first, the Hawks struggled early as they lost both openers in quick succession thanks to the handy work of Kade Broekhoff (3/19) and Tate Wright (2/26) and had Drouin on the ropes with them sitting at 7/44 at one point. When all hope was lost for the Hawks, a big fight back from recruits Lane Ward (36) and Jacob Konstanty (38*) filling in due to Western Park having a bye, rallied the Hawks to a defendable total of 9/125, unable to bat out their overs, giving Longwarry/Catani a challenge in week two.

Western Park Blue 5/102(cc) def Warragul 5/78

Western Park have come away victorious against their cross-town rivals at home. Batting first, a couple of early wickets saw Western Park look shaky early with both dismissals being run outs, before the captain Jack Walsh

Garfield(21*) and Joseph Sheehan (22*) stabilised for their side and were instrument­al for setting up their teams grand total of 5/102.

In reply, the Gulls struggled early plummeting to 4/11 early on before Tyler Best (15), Tarynt Davidson (18*) & Liam West (20*) stood up and tried to get their side over the line. Quality line and length was too much to handle for the gulls however, with 4 maidens bowled saw the scoring hard to come by, as the Gulls fall short by 24 runs.

Drouin 5/101 def Buln Buln Red 8/88 Drouin have come out on top against Buln Buln at home.

Batting first, Drouin went out to bat first, and were brought out to a good start by opener Harry Radcliffe (19) before Harry Piner (15) and Ben Smith (21*) all stood tall, as Buln Buln struggled to find an answer to the dominant batting with James Clifton (2/11) the only answer with Drouin finishing with 5/101.

In reply, Buln Buln came out with good intent early with Beau McMillan (18) and Artie Davidson (25*) got Buln Buln off to a good start with the bat. This was matched by the Hawks with the ball as they got shut down by the tight bowling of Keegan Frielander (3/2) and Tahj Osseweyer (2/1) who prevented the Lyrebirds making their run chase successful, as they finished 13 runs shy, booking Drouin a spot in the T20 final.

Yarragon Black 8/33 def by Ellinbank 5/141 Yarragon have struggled at home against the Eagles. Batting first, Yarragon couldn’t find a way to get going early as no batsman was able to reach double digits, thanks to the handy work of Tarrant Cannon (2/5) , with constant pressure and wicket taking seeing Yarragon slum to a total of 8/33, making it extremely difficult for them to find victory.

In reply, the Eagles dominated equally with the bat as they did with the ball, with Logan Joyce (22*), Nate Murphy (19*), Ryan Murphy (18*) and Archie Martel (22*) leading the way as Yarragon had their own worst nightmare with both bat and ball. Ellinbank saw themselves to victory early in their innings, passing the total one down to finish 5/141.

Hallora 7/72 def by Western Park White 4/86

Western Park have chased down Hallora successful­ly in a good battle. Batting first, Hallora were led by the experience­d duo of Jesse Welford (26*) and Max Williames (29*) which saw the Kangas off to a flyer. This was matched by Western Park as they caused a middle order collapse of 5/6 in the hands of Oliver Hilton (2/5) as Hallora finished with 7/72. In reply , Western Park came out with good intent, as Tom Fawcett (21*) and Joseph Simpson (20*) opened the batting and got their side off to the perfect start which set up the rest of their side to fire. Western Park passed Hallora’s total three wickets down to take the victory in the end by six wickets.

Buln Buln Blue 4/79 def Yarragon White 58 Buln Buln come out victorious thanks to the help of Yarragon at home. Batting first, Yarragon only saw one batsman reach double digits as the batting order was completely shuffled around in comparison to their strong performanc­e the week before, which saw Dane Hammond (2/6) see Yarragon rolled for 58 off of 14.1 overs.

In reply, Buln Buln felt the pressure early with the score at one point falling to 2/11, before Cooper Amey (18*) got the ball rolling and Yarragon player Henry Allsop (17* off 8) took it to his own team to help Buln Buln get over the line, as they finished on 4/79 to nab the win.
