End of Year Arrangements

The final few weeks of schooling for 2020 are upon us, what a year it has been! Congratulations to students, staff and parents for navigating remote learning during a global pandemic.

It hasn’t been an easy year but as a school community we stuck by each other and became stronger and more resilient from the experience. Students commenced Headstart on 30 November, this is a vital part of the curriculum where important subject information and requirements are provided by teachers so students know the expectations for the coming year. Senior Headstart will conclude this Friday 4 December, with Junior Headstart concluding on Friday 11 December. This is the final day of official classes with onsite activities being organised for junior students on Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 December.

A highlight at the end of each year is to recognise the individual achievements of our students, last week we received the good news that we are able to hold our annual Award Presentation for students and their families, scheduled for Friday 11 December from 1:30pm. Public health directions must be followed, therefore only allowing us to invite award recipients, their families and sponsors. Students receiving an award and their families will be notified in the coming weeks.

Funding for College Upgrade

Last week, the College received some welcome news in the form of funding, announced in the 2020/21 Victorian Budget. Warragul Regional College is set to receive $12.26 million to deliver stage 2 of the school’s master plan which includes a creation of a new arts hub and general-purpose classrooms.

The College has been in dire need of building upgrades for many years. In May last year we officially opened our new STEAM Centre building, stage 1 of the master plan. The STEAM building provides state-of-the-art equipment and technology within an engaging and supportive environment that stimulates the imagination and creative learning for students to shape the world in the future.

We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to continue our vision and offer our students and staff modern facilities and learning spaces.
