EMPLOYMENT Target of 200,000 new jobs across Victoria by 2022 and 400,000 by 2025 through government Jobs Plan driven by projects that will boost small and large businesses.
$619 million in subsidies to employers to engage 10,000 new workers across the State, $150 million of which will go towards employing women.
Progressive improvements to communications infrastructure and technology for regional areas that will assist businesses efficiency and growth and enable more people to work from home.
$156 million boost to Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund.
A further $125 million for the Latrobe Valley Authority to support jobs, skills and infrastructure.
BUSINESS
Jobs Tax Credit of 10 per cent for small and medium businesses that rehire staff, restore hours or create new jobs.
A 50 per cent stamp duty concession on buying commercial and industrial properties in regional areas brought forward to January.
Subsidies for wages of new employees.
HEALTH
Latrobe Regional Hospital. $217 million to provide three new operating theatres, 30 extra inpatient beds, six intensive care beds and an expanded maternity unit. $4.4 million for additional beds for patients recovering from alcohol or drug dependencies.
Minimum nurse-to-resident ratios to be introduced at aged care homes across Victoria.
TOURISM
Wilsons Promontory. $23 million for a new park and ride network, new accommodation, park and ride network, improved visitor facilities.
Mallacoota Inlet and Point Hicks lighthouse. $6.7 million upgrades.
East Gippsland Rail Trail upgrade.
ENERGY
New Gippsland Renewable Energy zone. One of six dedicated power hubs in Victoria costing $1.6 billion.
AGRICULTURE
$65 million for new agricultural strategy providing better infrastructure and new technology to connect farmers with new markets.
New Breakthrough Victoria Fund focusing on agribusiness.
$59 Million to improve facilities at agricultural colleges
BUSHFIRE RISK Build and upgrade 1447 kilometres of fuel breaks across State including temporary Cowwarr-Bruthen break built last summer.
TRANSPORT
$250 million duplication of 43 kilometres of Princes
Highway between Traralgon and Sale.
HOUSING Minimum $35 million for social and affordable housing in Baw Baw shire and $60 million for Latrobe City. Cardinia Shire identified as a priority area.
Continued support for those renting houses and facing financial hardship to remain in their houses.
EDUCATION
$100 million for school upgrades across Gippsland, including Warragul Regional College.
$25,000 each to Thorpdale and Trafalgar primary schools to address roof plumbing issues.
Up to $2000 saving on fees for families with children attending kindergarten.
$1.6 billion to double to 55,000 over four years the number of students with disabilities receiving extra classroom support.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE
$124 million over four years for Bushfire Recovery Victoria to continue support for those impacted by last summer’s bushfires.
$4 million for emergency services’ technology and system upgrades.
$10.8 million to upgrade facilities and operational support for the state’s Marine Search and Rescue, Lifesaving and Emergency services.
