Lego brightens hospital stay

-

Children who need to stay at West Gippsland Hospital will have some fun while they recover with brand new boxes of Lego donated by the Uncle Bobs Club.

UBC state director Ric Blackburn presented the gifts to the paediatric unit (children’s ward) with UBC Warragul branch president Karen Lindorff and secretary Kevin Potter.

UBC is also running a major fundraiser over the next few months to purchase a Snuggle Cot for sick children at West Gippsland Hospital valued at $8200.

Ms Lindorff, said the campaign had started to build following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

“A number of local businesses including the Warragul Country Club and Streetside Café and Eatery are supporting our volunteer fundraisers with raffles and other activities.

“West Gippsland Hospital is a vital health service in our community and UBC Warragul Club want to make sure local children have access to the best equipment and comfort items during their stay in hospital.”

Mr Blackburn said he hoped the donation of Lego gifts would also help brighten children’s stay in hospital.

“UBC was very grateful to receive the Lego from the charity, Good2Give and we have delivered boxes to a number of children’s wards across the state including West Gippsland Hsospital.”
