Mat Dare (26) added quick runs striking three boundaries and a maximum to see the Bulls cruising at 2/80. Jerry Whibley quickly settled at the crease and took command of the scoring, regularly penetrating the field and finding the rope nine times as he recorded his second halfcentury of the season, guiding his side to victory with 55.

Earlier in the day, the Gulls struggled against the new ball as Adam Barton (2/24) snared early wickets. Harmanpreet Singh offered the only resistance with a well-paced innings that included 11 boundaries, finishing unbeaten on 80.

Garfield-Tynong 10/111 def by Iona 6/165 (cc)

Iona moves into third spot after a comfortable win over Garfield-Tynong. Sent in by the home side, the Swamp Tigers bounced back after a shaky start that saw them lose 2/36. Scott Hoare led the revival with a patient 69 that helped set the foundation for a competitive total.

Michael Scully made a handy contribution with 20 while Brayden Hoskins added a valuable 33 not out in the final overs. Darren Vandenberge was the pick of the bowlers and the only multiple wicket taker, finishing with 3/27 off eight overs. In reply, the Titans started well against the new ball with Stuart Horsburgh and Jake Lambourne each reaching double figures. An important 29 from Vandenberge kept his side in the contest before the change bowlers swung into action, decimating the home side’s middle and lower order. The Titans lost 7/30 as Hoskins (4/24) and Cecil Haysom (2/10) wrapped things up with eleven overs to spare.
