Masterplan for Rollo St

-

Baw Baw Shire is seeking community feedback on a draft masterplan for the former Yarragon Primary School site in Rollo St, Yarragon.

A draft masterplan has been prepared by council together with Blom Design to determine the future use of the vacant land following the relocation of Yarragon Primary School to a new site in Loch St.

Council undertook a community consultation process in January and February to share its view on the best use for the site. The findings provided a base for the concepts presented in the draft masterplans.

The primary purpose of the site is to create a space that promotes passive recreation activities such as walking, playing, relaxation, contemplation, and enjoyment of art, culture and community events.

The draft plans include vegetation and landscaping activities as well as carpark upgrades and signage solutions, all intended to enhance the overall visitor experience for Yarragon residents and the wider community.

People wanting to comment can do so on the have your say section of council’s website by September 22.

Mayor Danny Goss said the site had great potential to benefit the community.

“However, it’s the people who live and work around this space who know exactly what is needed and what will benefit the community most.

“If you have feedback, we want to hear it. I encourage those living in and around Yarragon, and those just interested in the future of this site to visit the have your say section on council’s site and let us know your thoughts”.
