Andree and Bec at VC Traders

-

Andree started working at VC Traders in September 1997, when she took over accounts payable from her Mum.

In the first year, she spent a lot of time dusting, as she was still learning the ropes and finding where she sat in the business.

Fast forward 25 years, and she is now the finance manager.

The Industry is typically a male dominated field and Andree is proud to work with three other women in the business.

Kerrie has been the accounts manager for 35 years and has been a role model for Andree. Bec started working with VC Traders in August 2007 as a retail trainee.

She had just had her first child, had never worked in retail before but liked the idea of working with machinery and people.

It was definitely challenging at times being a male dominated industry so it took time for her to feel she had the trust and respect, but she loves a challenge and 15 years later she is now the sales manager.

They often have a giggle about some of the blokes who come in expecting Bec not to know much, but she blows them away with her knowledge. Andree’s daughter Lilli is also working in the business whilst finishing her uni studies, and she has fit right into the crazy work family, although most of the staff have watched her grow up.

There is a great team here at VC Traders, not just the women. Andree is proud to work with all of them and call them friends.

The best part about working at VC Traders is getting to work with her brother Dean.

It is a great team, they don’t always see eye to eye but it would be boring if they did!
