Dusties on a winner with Eddie
Warragul Industrials Football Netball Club backed a winner with the appearance of media personality Eddie McGuire as special guest at their sponsors and life members' recent luncheon.
There were 130 Dusties through-and-through at the luncheon in the revamped clubrooms at Western Park held to say thank you to the many sponsors, supporters and volunteers that make the club tick.
President Shane Ingham thanked the sponsors for their continuing commitment to help the club expand and provide a facility and programs that benefit the whole community and the volunteers that "put in countless unrewarded or spoken about hours".
He made special mention of past presidents Barry Horan and Ron Wood, long time allround helper Carol Muldowney and Andy Mumford who has been timekeeper at senior games for the best part of 20 years.
Mr Ingham also thanked the committee members that "go above and beyond" every week.
He said the support of sponsors helped make it possible for the club to flourish, provide the best possible coaches and give young footballers and netballers the best available pathways for them.
Eddie McGuire, who some people light-heartedly refer to as "Eddie everywhere", was everywhere around the clubrooms during his visit.
There was a presentation of the Dusties' number one football jumper to long time sponsor and supporter Andrew Moore of Warragul Toyota, a guest speaker and Q&A session and overseeing a hotly contested and highly successful auction.
A pin could be heard drop during Eddie's address.
He spoke of his passion for local football and what it means to him and his love for the game at all levels before honestly answering a wide array of questions that were thrown at him.
