Senior Gulls impress on road trip
Warragul netballers made the long journey to Bairnsdale in a split round of Gippsland League on Saturday.
A grade: Warragul 51 defeated Bairnsdale 25
In very cold and windy conditions, it was not ideal conditions for either goaling end.
The Gulls started strongly and were able to build each quarter, coming away winners.
In a strong midcourt performance by Sienna Green, Mia McGarrity and Alex Cole, this trio were able to capitalise on the excellent defence by Renee Cook and Bronte Harvey. Goaling duo Jaime Rollinson and Ella “Judy” Rees are looking to be a huge threat in the second half of the season.
The club can't wait to see what this team has to offer in the coming weeks. Keep building girls.

B grade: Warragul 35 lost to Bairnsdale 36
A hard fought and well contested game across four quarters saw the Gulls go down by just one goal in the final minutes of the match.
Warragul worked hard, forcing turnovers in the defensive end with the midcourt and shooters doing their best to capitalise in very trying and windy conditions.
Best: Cara Gavin who showed great experience in defence.
Awards: Grace Cant and Bec O'Halloran for their solid performances.
C grade: Warragul 36 defeated Bairnsdale 21
This was an outstanding game from the Warragul girls.
They capitalised on the very windy conditions and made Bairnsdale work for every pass and goal.
With consistency from defence through the midcourt and all the way down to the goalers, the Gulls were able to come away with the four points.
17 and under: Warragul 22 lost to Bairnsdale 41
A strong first quarter by both teams set the tone for a nice and even game.
The Gulls were able to capitalise on their turnovers and stay just one goal behind Bairnsdale.
Bairnsdale proved too strong for the Warragul girls in the second quarter, setting them up for a comfortable win.
15 and under: Warragul 15 lost to Bairnsdale 68
Not an ideal day for Warragul, losing to Bairnsdale.
A strong performance was brought forward by star midcourter Edie Flanagan, receiving best on court for her impressive skills and determination.
Lainie Gowans and Arabell Looby also received awards for their positive attitudes that continued throughout the four quarters, regardless of the score.
13 and under: Warragul 9 lost to Bairnsdale 53
The Gulls played an ever improving game against a high quality opposition.
