Community disappointment

-

Community members took to social media last week with more than 300 Facebook comments expressing disappointment over Albert and Smith’s closure.

Darren Purcell - Shattering news! Week in, week out you guys delivered. You did the hard yards through COVID times and became a place of solace and comfort as we emerged from it. Thanks for the good times...and food...and best of luck to all involved for the future!

Nina McMahon - So disappointed for you, the staff and for us, your diners. It shows in all the comments here what an amazing job you guys did. Be proud of all the hard work that went into Albert and Smith and the wonderful memories you all helped make for so many people

Karin Jones - David, Sam and staff, this is such a sad loss, best restaurant in town going because of bureaucracy. Our Thursday nights won’t be the same. Thank you for you friendships, awesome food and service

Railway Hotel Warragul - From one to another we are genuinely very saddened to hear this news. We have always received excellent service and food at your venue when we have managed to sneak away from our own. On many occasions during the pandemic, we banded together and will never forget the respect shown and the camaraderie shared during those challenging times.

Peter Kingwill - So sorry to hear this sad news Dave. Its disappointing that BBSC has forced out such a successful business, a significant loss to the arts centre community and the public. Thanks for all the great food and company, you and the A&S team will be sorely missed.

Nicola Keyzer - Such sad news, tough times endured over the past two years only to be closing under such trying circumstances... none could have done it better!!! A huge loss to the community! Hoping this won’t be the last we see of your amazing talent... thank you Dave, Sam, Mandy and team.

Craig Debnam - So disappointed to read this, after all of your investment in the WGAC precinct and creating a business with an outstanding reputation! It’s incredibly disappointing to hear negotiations with your Landlord have reached this point! You’ve become a destination for locals and a draw card to shows and events.

Sarah Wallace - A very sad loss for the community. Please open somewhere else. BBSC have not made a great choice here. Do better.

Pat Cooper - So sad to hear. To have a restaurant in our area that caters to all clientele has been a great asset to showcase the WGAC. People come from far and wide to enjoy your hospitality. Will be a sorry day for Warragul and Baw Baw Shire when you close your door.
