Dusties under 16s through to semis

-

Like their seniors counterparts, the Warragul Industrials fourths are through to the semi-finals courtesy of a thumping win over Bunyip.

The Dusties put the game to bed early in the piece, kicking six goals to no score in the first quarter to essentially have the result settled by the first change of ends.

It was a relentless performance from the Dusties, led from the front by William Brewer and Tom Cornwall, who kicked four and three goals respectively. Alix Tauru, Regan Awty and Campbell Gibbons were also outstanding for the team.

For Bunyip it's a disappointing end to their season, though they enjoyed solid performances from Declan McFarlane, Ethan Marson and Samuel Grummisch.

In the other fourths elimination final, Korumburra-Bena prevailed over Garfield 7.9 (51) to 2.3 915).

The Giants build their lead in the first half, with the margin at 23 points before they went on with the job in the second half.

Mitchell Croatto, Tommy Burgess and Ben Fort were all strong for Korumburra-Bena, while Diesel Ashe, Brynn Turner and Ding Dieng were Garfield's better players.

The Dusties will now face Korumburra-Bena next week.

Bunyip's reserves had much better luck, dominating their own elimination final to send Cora Lynn out of contention.

The Bulldogs were outstanding, particularly on the defensive end as the restricted the Cobras to just four goals on the way to a 10.10 (70) to 4.6 930) victory.

Brent Heus was the star up forward, booting five in a best-on ground-performance, while Blake Cann, Jack Roberts and Ben Stewart rounded out the best.

Sean Wilson, Luke Foreman and Jake Ross were some of Cora Lynn's better players.

Koo wee rup prevailed in an absolute thriller in the other elimination final, pipping Phillip Island by just one point.

The Demons benefitted from some incredibly poor goalkicking from their opponents as they won 4.6 (30) to 3.11 (29). In fact, all four of Koo wee rup's goals came in a first quarter rush that saw them jump out to an early lead.

They were then made to hang on grimly as Phillip Island fought hard, but were ultimately undone by their shocking accuracy for goal.

In the thirds it was Garfield who pulled off their own stunning one-point win over Phillip Island, the final score being 4.5 (29) to 4.4 (28).

Going into the final quarter just seven points up, the Stars were unable to score another goal for the game but managed to hold on in a low-scoring, defensively intensive thriller.

Kade Bibbs, John Zaccari and Will Pickering were the pick of the bunch for Garfield, while for Phillip Island Hunter Clarke, Jack Papas and Finn Cashman all played well, as Dylan Susic kicked three goals to be the game's only multiple goal scorer.

Elsewhere, Cora Lynn enjoyed a dominant victory over Nar Nar Goon, winning 15.11 (101) to 3.5 (23).

A 6.3 to 0.0 first term set up the win for the Cobras, who from that point onwards didn't looked troubled whatsoever as they, like the senior side, consigned Nar Nar Goon to an early exit this season.

Oliver Sail booted four goals in a best-onground performance, and was ably supported by Caelan Addis, Jett Edwards and Toby Goswell.

Sam Coleman, Luke Mounter and Bayley Tytler gave their best for Nar Nar Goon, but it was of little consequence as they were swept aside.
