After being forced to play many golf croquet matches in atrocious weather conditions throughout the previous week, the Gippsland Croquet Association commenced its pennant season after having Tuesday's matches prevailed on and off due to blinding rain and hail.

Accommodating its newest members, Drouin Croquet Club has entered two teams, those being Drouin Green and Gold, in the golf croquet competition this season, with a single association croquet team. This year, the format will see all singles played matches as level singles games alongside the doubles handicap game. Today, the Drouin Green and Gold play against each other.

The team of Drouin Green, captained by Nannette Fry, were hosts to Morwell recently with extremely heavy lawns, causing there to be difficulty against the experienced team of Morwell.

Biffin of the Drouin team against Smallwood and Donelly, M. Scanlon and R. Biffin losing to Smallwood and Browne, and lastly N. Fry and H. Biffin against Williamson and Donelly.

Led by Kelvin Marriott, the Drouin Gold team has been off to a tough start, narrowly missing out on winning.
