The unemployment impacts of COVID-19 hit Melbourne’s north much harder than the rest of Melbourne and Victoria as well as the Caravan Industry in all sectors.

In partnership with NORTH Link, the Caravan Industry Victoria launched the Caravan Jobs Project funded by the Victorian Government.

This project assists the fast-growing Caravan Manufacturing and Service Industry to fill permanent vacancies while providing local job seekers with genuine employment opportunities.

This project is a win-win – it supplies workers to a growing industry and also helps people find a job while giving them the support they need to adjust to a new career.

The Caravan Industry Victoria represents over 240 Caravan and RV Manufacturers, Dealers, Retailers, Service & Repairers, as well as Suppliers and allied Service Providers.

Many are familiar with the organisation as it conducts the largest and longest-running Caravan and Camping Show in Victoria, ‘The Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow’ where many members attend to get in front of the crowd and promote their products.

As international travel ceased during the COVID-19 Pandemic and the desire to explore the Australian outdoors boomed, the Caravan Industry Shows became a major draw for Customers to compare all the best Caravan & RV brands in one place, drawing over 44,000 visitors at the event this year.

Camping and caravanning were once considered hobbies for Retirees, but it is now attracting younger generations as well, and the Industry welcomes this new cohort of buyers with open arms.

A new generation of adventurers includes young couples and families looking to buy into a lifestyle that takes them to any destination around the country while offering them all the comforts of home they desire, as well as older travellers upgrading their current RVs and Caravans to accommodate their changing lifestyle on the road.
