New festival for Lardner Park

-

Gippsland Country Musical Festival is coming to Larder Park next year, complete with exciting headlining acts and a threeday camping experience.

The all-ages event was previously held at Mossvale Park in Berrys Creek, however, in its third year, the festival will take place at Lardner on Saturday April 22.

Lee Kernaghan, Troy Cassar-Daley, Adam Brand and Beccy Cole are just some of the artists that will take to the stage on Saturday, along with the first international artist to appear at the GCMF, Kaylee Bell, a country pop artist from New Zealand.

In addition to music, there also will be other experiences like a woodchopping competition, a smokehouse barbeque and freestyle motocross, line dancing, carnival rides, and market stalls.

Many food and drink vendors will be Gippsland based.

Event organiser Aidan McLaren said organisers were thrilled to have camping available for attendees, as it was not an option in previous years.

“We always knew that camping would be such an incredible element to add to the festival, and are really pleased that Lardner Park is able to offer us this in our third year,” he said.

“The camping area is located on flat land with increased space and accessible facilities, ideal for establishing your temporary home. Hopefully, it gives the opportunity for even more music fans to come and experience the festival.”

Lardner Park chief executive officer Craig Debnam said he was “pleased to see the lineup” and advised people to book early to secure a camping spot.

Mr Debnam said the park had been in contact with GCMF promoters for a couple of years, however, the event was only officially locked in a few weeks ago.

There will be only one day of music, but attendees will have the option to camp at Lardner Park on Friday and Saturday nights, with the festival wrapping up on Sunday.

Mr Debnam said there is the option for the festival to return in future years if it is successful.

GCMF is an all-ages festival. Children (under 10) and youth (11 to 17 year olds) tickets must be purchased alongside an adult ticket.

Anyone under the age of 18 is required to attend with a parent or legal guardian

Tickets for the Gippsland Country Music Festival will go on sale on Moshtix at 8.30am this Thursday October 13.

General admission tickets for adults start at $105 (minus GST).
