Back to the 80s

-

Forever 80s is coming to the West Gippsland Arts Centre for the first time on Friday October 28.

The band will perform songs from Wham!, Whitney Houston, Billy Idol, A-ha, Tina Turner, Prince, Cindy Lauper, Bon Jovi and more.

Audience members will be transported back in time as the five performers, Misfit, BlueSteel, PC Heartbreaker, Van Whalin’ and JC Stixx don the makeup, costumes and hair of the 80s.

Frontman Blue-Steel said the show caters for all ages and demographics and will be enjoyed by people whether they lived through the 80s, or have heard their parents play the songs.

Blue-Steel said are a variety of different songs to be enjoyed.

“A show has to flow... you’ve got to have your fun element to the show, which everyone wants to dance and sing to, but then you’ve got to have your artistic side, where you sing the songs you wouldn’t get to see performed by a lot of performers,” he said.

“One of my favourite songs to sing is ‘Send me and Angel’ by Real Life.”

All five members of the band are touring artists and have big performance backgrounds, many having toured overseas.

Blue-Steel said the Forever 80s point of difference from other acts is that audience members say watching the show is like actually seeing a real band in the 80s.

“They really get invested in the show,” he said. After trying times for performers all over the world during the pandemic, Blue-Steel said Forever 80s “love being back performing” and are looking forward to 2023 being a big year.

Forever 80s runs for approximately two hours, with a 20-minute intermission.

Tickets are $53.50 and can be purchased at https://www.wgac.com.au/
