United’s unbeaten run continues

Gippsland United’s womens team faced a huge battle in State League Three on Sunday against very strong opposition.

Evenly matched with Chisholm on the pitch in the first half, the women came into the half-time break at 0-0.

Some hard work from the backline and some creative work in the middle of the park finally resulted in a goal to Shanasai Iorangi.

The girls held on to take all three points, keeping the unbeaten run going. It puts the girls top of the table.

State League Four

Gippsland United dominated the women’s soccer match against Pakenham United at Baxter Park on Sunday.

With a fierce mindset, United managed to find the back of the net for five fabulous goals, while Pakenham scored one goal.

Stef Creedy contribute­d three goals and Emma Thornton scored two, securing a resounding 5-1 victory.

The rain held off, creating the perfect conditions for a day of football that celebrated and promoted females in soccer.

The match showcased the talent, determinat­ion and relentless spirit of both teams, with United emerging as the dominant force.

The victory highlighte­d the growth of women’s soccer and served as a reminder of the immense potential and bright future of the sport.

Under 10 boys

The boys were on the road again to Kingston City. Gippsland went into half-time with a 2-1 lead following two good goals from Luca Pitisano.

Unfortunat­ely, the second half went the way of the hosts who bagged three good goals and wound up 4-2 winners.

Great performanc­e again from Ethan Gordon in goal and also Sam Wilson, Luca Pitisano and Will Dennison. A strong debut was made by Ace Robinson.

Under 11 boys

Gippsland hosted a strong Cranbourne side who kept the host at bay for most of the first half.

One first half goal from Riley Nankervis was the difference at half-time.

The second half started strong and the boys finished up 5-1 winners.

Goals: Riley Nankervis (two), Ollie Fak, Zac Robinson, with an OG. The boys are looking stronger each week in a tough division and have two tough away games coming up.
