GREATER accuracy helped Poowong account for Lang Lang in the under 18s, the contest a lot closer than what the scoreboard suggested.

Both sides finished with 12 scoring shots, the Magpies finishing with 7-5 (47) to 3-9 (27) to clinch the result.

The Tigers regained the lead heading into half time, before better finishing helped the Magpies in the second half, scoring five goals to one.

David O'Neill, Noah Furness, Angus Halliwell, Thomas Sherar, Bryce Townsend and Anthony Orsini helped the Magpies advance.

Keeping the Tigers in the contest were Tylor Dalgleish, Rylen Cranton, Luke Thompson, Joshua Hall, Jaylen Waixel and Lukas Watts.
