Cats cruise to crushing win

NEERIM-NEERIM SOUTH added some valuable percentage in the Ellinbank District under 18s with a big win over Lang Lang, 19-17 (131) to 4-3 (27).

With a battle looming with Buln Buln over top spot, the Cats cashed in and were never headed. They built to a 91-point advantage at the final change, before petering out in the final term with two goals to one.

Jackson Williames, Isaac Guy, Jay Ladson, Chad Owen, Patrick Sheehan (five goals) and Seth Chandler led the way for the Cats.

The Tigers were best served by Rylen Cranton, Liam Casey, Tylor Dalgleish, Chayse Everitt, Luke Thompson and Noah Christense­n.

ELLINBANK further consolidat­ed in the top three with a comfortabl­e victory over Trafalgar, 14-10 (94) to 2-5 (17).

The Bloods held firm in the second term, keeping the Eagles to just one goal, but otherwise it was the home side who took control.

Jack Champion (five goals), Cooper Faith, Thomas Bingham, Will O'Brien, Joel Armstrong and Rick Rosser led the way in the big win.

Trafalgar were best served by Toby Radford, Liam Coulthard, Oliver Hennessy, Jacob Angus and William Bremner.

YARRAGON moved clear in fourth as they accounted for Poowong, 10-10 (70) to 6-6 (42).

The Panthers booted five goals to one in the first term and were never headed, as they built to a 39-point advantage at the final change.

Poowong finished strongly to boot three goals to one in the final term and put some respectabi­lity into the score line.

Blair Owen, Zak Keeble, Ty Keeble, Joshua Mills, Kade Paynter and Lachlan King were the better players for Yarragon.

Helping Poowong play the match out were Tommy Burgess, Anthony Orsini, Daniel Whelan, Bryce Townsend, Sterling Holman and Gavin Monson.
