Are you satisfied with council?

-

Local residents could soon receive a phone call to question their levels of satisfaction with Baw Baw Shire Council.

The “community satisfaction survey” program began on Thursday and residents may receive a phone call to participate throughout the month.

Independent market research agency National Field Services will conduct

100 telephone interviews with a random selection of residents to assess the service delivery of Baw Baw Shire against a range of measures.

Baw Baw Shire mayor Annemarie McCabe said the interviews did not take long and survey results proved very helpful for council to implement improvements.

Unlike previous years, the state government’s annual program will sample resident sentiment four times a year with the aim of providing a more consistent measure of community satisfaction across the 12 month period.

Previously, the survey was conducted just once a year, throughout March.

The four survey interviews will take place from June 1 to July 2; August 17 to September 17; November 1 to December 3; and dates in February and March 2024 to be confirmed.

All resident details and responses to the survey are strictly anonymous.

“The yearly community satisfaction survey results provide us with valuable insight into areas where we perform well and those areas that we could improve in,” Cr McCabe said.

“For the past two years, we were pleased to see an increase in our overall performance, but we are always looking to improve.”

“I highly encourage our residents to take part in the surveys as they receive the calls,” she said.

The overall results will be published following the survey completion.
