“Interlude” at the Red Tree Gallery

-

The Warragul Camera Club is presenting a new exhibition at the Red Tree Gallery until June 28.

"Interlude" combines the work of eight club members, displaying their various skills and interests through the theme: moments between busy lives.

Each photographer has contributed up to nine images for the exhibition, which was put together on short notice after another exhibition did not go ahead.

The exhibition is an excellent display of all the talent Warragul Camera Club has to offer.

Mark Breyley of Neerim South is one of the photographers whose work is featured..

Breyley is known for his nature photography. His pieces depict insects, birds and landscapes.

One of Breyley's favourites in this exhibition is "Hanging six in a peaceful roost", a carefully considered image of a dragonfly captured with a Sony RX 10.

"We were on one of the trails in the hill behind Lorne, and stopped to rest beside the creek."

"He was just gradually relaxing and his wings came down to rest, so I went around the other side of where he was to get the light coming from behind - the leaf lit up but the light came through the wings as well."

Club member Mike Moore is also displaying his work.

Moore ordinarily captures nature images but has recently branched out to landscape and portrait photography.

"The Lookout in the Garden", depicting an Australian honeyeater is one of Moore's favourite pieces.

Warragul Camera Club secretary Kayren Browne is also presenting a variety of her works and is proud of the variety and skill the club members have to offer.

"The diversity of the club is what has made this exhibition so exciting."
