Netball pushing for finals

-

It's been a big season for the club's netball program, with new facilities headlining a raft of improvements.

The new pavilion, which has seen the netball return to Western Park, has created and improved strong relationships on and off the court.

The incredible bond between the club's netball and football players is something that other clubs don't necessarily get to experience.

At this point the club's A grade side is pushing hard for top five.

They've been taking on and challenging the very best, as seen when they drew with reigning premiers Morwell in round four - the Tigers' only match they so far they didn't win.

The new recruits have slotted in seamlessly, such as ex-GWS Giants academy player Selene Chadrawy.

A defender, Chadrawy has been outstanding for the Gulls and has been exciting to watch.

Kate Emerson has also had a strong impact, with the unassuming goaler showing her killer accuracy.

The netballers all take immense pride in their culture, where they aim to be the fun club - welcoming and approaching. In their minds, wins begin off the court.

This is in large-part thanks to the coaches leading from the front, using their collective experience and knowledge to develop the Gulls' already exciting players.

With VNL coaches in place for the juniors, their improvement has been a joy to watch, having already won more games than the entirety of last season.

While the focus remains on 2023, the seeds of future success are already being sown, as succession planning and recruiting for 2024 are already underway as Warragul builds towards long-term success.
