Drouin defeat Ninjas in game of week

The Mid Gippsland Junior Badminton Associatio­n played its round six fixture last week. B grade:

This week’s teams were:

Team One: Rouan White, Tom Hansford and Aaron Cromie.

Team Two: Tim McDonald, Jai Baker and Suley Shamsi.

Team One was victorious with 214 aces and three games to Team Two’s 189 aces and three games.

In the doubles game of the week, Tim and Suley defeated Rouan and Aaron 9/21, 21/20, 21/11.

In the singles game of the week, Suley defeated Aaron 30/27.

For personal rankings, Rouan won two games with 124 aces, followed by Suley 2/108, Tom 2/105, Aaron 1/121, Tim 1/105 and Jai 1/94.

C grade:

Labertouch­e defeated Warragul 4/124 to 2/195; Ellinbank Blue defeated Ellinbank Gold 4/215 to 2/187. Drouin had a bye.

D grade:

Drouin defeated Warragul Warriors 3/82 to 1/66; Warragul Warriors defeated Warragul Ninjas 3/83 to 1/70; Drouin defeated Warragul Ninjas 2/76 to 2/69. C/D grade game of the week:

Game of the week was in the D grade between Drouin and the Warragul Ninjas, where three players on each team played.

Both teams came away with two games each, however, Drouin emerged victorious with seven more aces, bringing the score to 76/69.

In one and two doubles, Drouin’s Darcy and Ryan defeated Shanae and Amelie 21/11.

The three and four doubles were unable to play due to the lack of a fourth player.

In the singles, Drouin’s Darcy defeated Shanae 21/16, Warragul Ninjas’ Amelie defeated Ryan 21/17 and Omar defeated Nathan 21/17.

Little Smashes

Four children turned up to play - Donny Martin, Cooper Fox, Ollie Martin and Morgan Fox.

Special doubles were played, with Donny winning three games with a total of 62 aces, followed by Morgan with two games and 50 aces, Ollie with one game and 44 aces and Cooper with one game and 39 aces.
