Bloods move clear

TRAFALGAR moved a game clear in the Ellinbank District under 18 top five, defeating Longwarry 9-4 (58) to 5-9 (39).

An entertaini­ng first half ensued, the Bloods taking a narrow three-point lead into the first change before falling to a 12-point deficit at the long break.

The Bloods then clicked into gear, booting seven goals to two to run away with it in the second half.

William Bremner, Toby Radford, Juddson Ryan, Oliver Hennessy, Angus Cooper and Isaac Caroleo led the charge.

Helping the Crows to an early lead were Cooper Matthes, Tom Smith, Dominic Keane, David Forbes, Billy Jones and Kai Withers.

NEERIM-NEERIM SOUTH and Ellinbank maintained their advantage at the top of the table with big wins over lower ranked teams.

Aided by an overage permit player featuring among the better players, Yarragon matched the Cats early. The Cats then took control in a high scoring shootout of sorts, adding 13 goals to five after quarter time to win 16-6 (102) to 7-6 (48).

Patrick Sheehan booted nine goals for the Cats with Jay Ladson, Keegan Friedlande­r, Chad Owen, Nate Chandler and Isaac Guy.

Yarragon was best served by Liam Smith Butterwort­h, Joshua Mills, Jordan Edwards, Blair Owen, Zachary Mills and Lachlan King.

ELLINBANK kicked away in the second half to defeat Lang Lang, 13-10 (88) to 7-6 (48).

The Eagles booted eight goals to two in the second half after scores were locked at 5-3 apiece at half time.
