Bouquets to all the Scout volunteers who made the 22nd Gippsland corroboree at Caringal Scout Camp near Erica a huge success. Rock climbing was my highlight.

It was disappointing to experience poor sound quality at last Wednesday’s Baw Baw Shire Council meeting. Many of the microphones didn’t work or ‘cut in and out’ and the overall volume was low, making it a strain to hear most of the various speakers. We deserve to hear every word at these public forums so I trust the sound engineer would be far more vigilant next time. Good, clear audio sound would assist ‘sound’ outcomes.

A truckload of bricks to Crs Goss and Wallace whose hostility towards and contempt for women at the April 3 council meeting demonstrated why Baw Baw more than any other municipality, needs gender equity measures embedded in every policy. Witnessing Cr Goss’ final tantrum one has to ask, can we trust these men to make sound decisions for our community, they’re so emotional.

A special heartfelt thank you to the kind and thoughtful person who found our son’s wallet at Walhalla and handed it in to the police station a couple of Fridays ago. Also, a big thank you to the warm and friendly Warragul policemen for returning it to us in the evening on the same day that it was lost. It is good to be reminded now and again that the world is full of decent, honest people. Thank you.
