Business awards open

-

The quest for this year’s outstanding Gippsland business awards is now up and running.

Headlining the awards is the Gippsland Business of the Year but there are also categories that recognise the wide range of business being conducted throughout the region.

Entries will close on May 24 with winners announced at a gala event on August 30 at Federation University at Churchill, the major sponsor of the awards.

Businesses based in Baw Baw Shire have been prominent in winning awards during the 26 years they have been running.

In addition to the major business of the year, businesses are encouraged to apply for awards for accommodation, food/wine production, health and wellbeing, hospitality, innovation, manufacturing, new business, retail, business and professional services, beauty and personal care, mechanical trades and construction, and tourism activities and attractions.

Launching this year’s awards chair Graeme Sennett said a strong, successful and highly valued business sector was vital to growth, innovation and sustainability of the region’s communities.

Thriving local businesses create an environment of success that not only creates jobs but builds pride for those working in the local businesses, he said.

Mr Sennett urged all of Gippsland’s business operators to take the opportunity to enter, stating that as well as the recognition the finalists and winners gain all entrants make meaningful connections that spur them to go further.

Nominations can be submitted on Federation University’s Gippsland Business Awards website - www.gba. org.au - after which entrants will receive a unique email link to complete their entries online.
