Tinies:

Posie Creighton is our green certificate winner this week for her colouring of children playing in autumn leaves. Posie used a mixture of orange, yellow and red Texta to colour in the leaves in her picture. I really liked how she blended the colours together, it made the scene look realistic.

Posie did a good job colouring the kids’ clothing so they stood out from the leaves, for example, the girl’s shirt was red but it still stood out from the red leaves. I also liked the light blue sky she added in the background of the picture. Well done Posie!

Our yellow certificate winner this week is Jack Mumford. Jack submitted two colourings this week and they were both great! His first colouring was of a very speedy Easter bunny, I liked how he used lots of different colours for the bunny, it made him look a bit whacky, like he was going crazy from delivering so many eggs.

Jack’s second picture was of a farmyard. I liked how Jack coloured the house in this picture, especially how the bright red chimney stood out against the black roof.

I thought it was clever that Jack added a shining sun but also a big rain cloud to the background of his picture. It reminded me of the weather we’ve had lately! Great job on both your pictures Jack! Juniors:

We had lots of awesome entries from our juniors this week. Green certificates are awarded to Lucy Buckler, Isla Mumford and Spencer Banks.

Lucy coloured a picture of two kids playing in autumn leaves. She did a great job staying inside the lines and added some intricate details that made the picture stand out.

Lucy added some dark blue lines to the light blue jeans that the kids were wearing, it made the creases in the pants look like real jeans!

I also liked how Lucy coloured the leaves, she used yellow Texta for the big pile and coloured the new leaves on top in orange. Well done Lucy.

Isla also coloured a picture of children playing in leaves. Isla coloured in the kids’ clothing in pencil and then outlined it in a similar coloured Texta. This outlining made the kids look almost three dimensional!

What I really liked about Isla’s picture is that she added two trees in the background and extra leaves falling through the air. These additions really made the picture come together. Great job Isla!

Spencer coloured a picture of a kid painting on an easel. I really liked how Spencer used colour pencil shading in this picture, it made the features look soft. My favourite part was the rainbow Spencer drew on the canvas. He coloured the paint pots in orange, red and blue, and made sure to use the same colours on the canvas. I thought it was very clever that Spencer coloured the paint brush orange and drew an orange line around it. Great work Spencer!

Spencer also receives a yellow certificate for his picture of an Easter bunny. Spencer did an awesome job of decorating the eggs in his picture, each one had their own special pattern. I also liked the purple running shoes Spencer gave the bunny, and the cloud of dust the bunny made by running so fast. Clever designing, Spencer.
