Eagles triumph

ELLINBANK continued its strong form from 2023 in the reserves, holding off Buln Buln to win 10-9 (69) to 8-8 (56).

The Eagles kicked out to a 25-point lead at the first change and while the Lyrebirds closed the gap to 11 at the long break, the visitor re-establishe­d a 21-point advantage at the final change.

Buln Buln kicked four goals to three in the final term to close the gap.

Mark Quigley, Samuel Ferguson, Thomas Jessup, Lachlan Pratt, Ryan Carpenter and Andrew Quirk helped the Eagles maintain the advantage.

Jared Lane, Sean Symes, Ryan Bradshaw, Jacob Pickthall, Jaran Guy and Aaron Warner kept the Lyrebirds in the contest.

A STRONG second half powered Nilma-Darnum's reserves to a second straight victory.

Trailing by four points at half time, the Bombers powered home with seven goals to two to win 11-7 (73) to 6-5 (41).

Stanton Till kicked five goals with Boeden Fries, Paul Cameron, Ethan Carlile, Blake Roberts and Dale O'Neill also among the better players.

Angus Young, Lucas Kallady and Jonah Serong were prominent for Longwarry.

OTHER matches were one-sided affairs, with Neerim-Neerim South comfortabl­y accounting for Yarragon 13-15 (93) to 3-5 (23).

The Cats kicked away after scoring the only goal of a dour first term.

Rhys George, Riley Ferguson, Lachlan Guy, Lachlan Ramage, Adam White and Jack Erickson helped the Cats kick away.

Yarragon were best served by Brett Coghill, David Bates, Clayton Bawden, Dylan Binzer, Keegan Hewitt and Lachlan McWhinney.

TRAFALGAR scored consistent­ly on the way to a big win over Poowong, 15-11 (101) to 2-2 (14).

Ben Cunico, Blake Zimora, Caden Webb, Tyron Stevens, Oliver Hennessy and Brodie Malady helped the Bloods to a big win.

The better players for Poowong were Bryce Riddell, Jake Peacock, Caspian Jackman-Riches, David O'Neill, Rhys butler and Athan Baltas.

LANG LANG thumped a struggling Nyora, 22-12 (144) to 1-4 (10).

Brock Duggan, Daniel Lewis, Jack Jenkins and Devlin Parker led the way for the Tigers.

Nyora were best served by Luke Ferguson, Lincoln Brock, Shaun Lamb, Robert Malberg, Dakota Boswell and Brandon Lee.
