Crows crush Bombers

Longwarry continued its impressive form to suggest it will push up the Ellinbank District football ladder, comfortably accounting for an improving Nilma-Darnum in a high scoring affair.
The Crows controlled much of the contest following an entertaining opening stanza to ultimately win 19-14 (128) to 10-16 (76).
The Bombers, who looked slick in last week's thumping of Nyora, entered the first change just 14-points in arrears in signs of a potential close contest to come.
Eight goals were scored in the first quarter, setting up a potential shootout considering the Bombers were able to score freely in the opening round.
Lucas Maffei continued his goal kicking exploits with the opener, followed by another to Matthew Clynes to give the Bombers the early lead.
The Crows responded with the next four, including a double to Jedd Serong, the forward line functioning well as dynamic duo Jason Wells and Braydon McHugh also got in on the act.
Sage Tapner then closed the gap before Ryan Wouters steadied for the Crows heading into the first change.
Like the first term, the Bombers were again able to start well, goals to Blake Cann and Malcolm Hunter closing the margin to two points.
The sides traded blows before Bailey Stephens began a run of seven consecutive goals for the Crows to close out the half with a comfortable 45-point lead.
A highly competitive third term followed as the Bombers looked to respond but could only find one major through Hunter for their efforts.
Wells and McHugh continued to find the goals as the Crows headed into the final change with a 47-point lead.
When Marko Kulas converted to begin the final term, any fading hope for the Bombers was extinguished.
McHugh and Wells continued their theme of scoring in each quarter as they finished with five apiece.
Tapner and Nathanael Dungey added consolation goals, but the damage had been done as the Crows finished with a strong 52-point victory.
Cooper Brown, Jason Wells, Ryan Wouters, Angus Adamiak, Kane Oldham and Casey Wells led the way for the Crows.
Nilma-Darnum's best were Ben Campbell, Nathanael Dungey, Nathan Campbell, Oakley Addison, Jake Barnard and Sebastian Crowle.
